Aerosol fire suppression involves a chain reaction chemical process that occurs in the burning flame. The primary element in the aerosol generators dispensing fire extinguishing material is solid aerosol charge in a metal case which includes a triggering unit and a cooling system. At Peripheral Manufacturing, Inc., you can depend on our team to provide you with highly effective fire suppression technology that quickly quenches industrial and commercial fires.
With an aerosol fire suppression system, a charge is started from a pyrotechnic impulse. From that, combustion is initiated resulting in the formation of a fire extinguishing aerosol cloud, which fills up the volume and puts out the fire. During the combustion, aerosol particles form and because of their small size of between 5 to 10 millimeters, they can often remain in suspension in the air for up to 40 minutes.
After the required concentration of fire extinguishing aerosol accumulates within an indoor area, the heat quickly dissipates as the temperature of the gaseous medium and burning drops. Once the generators stop functioning, the fire-extinguishing aerosol concentration stays within the area for about 10 to 15 minutes, preventing re-ignition.
Below are a number of powerful benefits provided by an aerosol fire suppression system:
