Fire Suppression Systems

PROTECT ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT, MEDIA, AND PERSONNEL WITH A SAFE, COST-EFFECTIVE SOLUTION

Peripheral Manufacturing, Inc. was founded by Ron Carboy about three decades ago after a successful career with Memorex Corporation. Ron was one of the first sales engineers who marketed magnetic broadcast, video, and computer tape. Peripherals is now an online-based firm selling computer industry products around the globe. One of its newest product innovations is our eco-friendly, potassium-based fire protection suppression system for automotive, industrial, and computer industry applications. If you are responsible for protecting your server room from a fire risk, you will need to identify a system that can do the job effectively. The considerations necessary when choosing a commercial or industrial fire protection system include maintenance, space requirements, cost, and operation.

AEROSOL SYSTEMS AND SPRINKLERS

Water sprinklers in a telecommunications or computer facility can cause significant damage to critical infrastructure and hardware more than the actual fire itself. This can leave your expensive equipment and supplies, such as data and magnetic media and electronics lost and ruined. However, aerosol systems can work in conjunction with sprinkler systems and prevent this damage from occurring.

An aerosol fire suppression system can prevent the activation of sprinklers and damage to equipment from the sprinklers in facilities that are required to have sprinklers by code. When sprinklers are triggered by heat, the quick acting smoke sensors of the aerosol system can detect the fire and put it out a long time before the sensors in the sprinklers are set off by sufficient heat to start dispersing water into the room. As a premier option among fire control solutions, the aerosol system helps you protect your equipment, keeping it dry and safe during a fire.

AEROSOL SYSTEM MAINTENANCE

Aerosol generators require limited scheduled maintenance and come with a guaranteed UL approved shelf life of 10 years. Each of these units comes self-contained and disperses an ecologically friendly flow of aerosol upon activation.

As opposed to gaseous systems which function at room pressure, aerosol generators are more cost-effective to install and maintain, and also have minimal weight and space requirements. There are various sized aerosol generators available that dispense the aerosol to fit any environment. You can purchase units that are small enough to install on walls at ceiling height to conserve needed floor space.

AVOID PAYING EXCESSIVE SUPPRESSION COSTS

Aerosol costs much less to install and maintain than the majority of other fire suppression systems. These systems consist of small generators installed around a particular area that need protection. These generators are connected electrically to a control panel. They are only activated when a fire is detected.

From the installation date, our aerosol generators have an 18-month warranty with a 10-year shelf life. If your facility expands or relocates, the fire suppression system can be uninstalled and reconfigured for an upgrade or reinstallation by a factory trained installer.

AN AUTOMATIC FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM CAN POTENTIALLY PROVIDE YOU WITH LOWER INSURANCE COSTS

It is important to consider the potential insurance cost savings of installing an automatic fire protection suppression system if your server room does not currently have one. You may obtain significant rate reductions for installing a dry or waterless chemical suppression system, enabling you to save potentially hard dollars.

AEROSOL FIRE SUPPRESSION DEFINED

Utilizing aerosol generators, Peripheral Manufacturing, Inc. is a select distributor of aerosol technology. The design of our fire suppression systems are patented and utilizes pyrotechnic-based chemistry to produce unique potassium-based aerosol. Once a fire is detected, our generators positioned around a particular room or area are activated and operate either electrically by a proper releasing device or manually.

Generators quickly dispense a highly effective, potassium-based, ultrafine aerosol in the event of a fire, producing a mist of suspended particles which quenches the fire in mere seconds. The aerosol agent remains active in the area for as much as one minute, effectively preventing the potential for re-ignition. This discharge does not leave much residue at all, making it easy for personnel to clean up in the aftermath by cleaning all surfaces and venting the room.
